To my mind, the Peak District lacks the charm of the Lakes, and the attraction of
the sea, but it nevertheless provides plenty of opportunities to get out walking
the hills. What is more, it is central to England and easy to reach making it ideal
for those who don’t want to travel too far and are looking for a long weekend break.
The valleys are as attractive as the moors, and if it rains then there is certain
to be some caves nearby in which to admire the stalactites and stalagmites as you
look for shelter!
